Thank you for your interest in the Event Officer committee position. Please read the details and fill in the form below or email: friendsofplattfields@gmail.com
The Role
The Events Officer is in charge of organizing a schedule of events throughout the year in Platt Fields. We host our own events (from bat walks to gardening clubs) and work with others in the park such as MUD and Platt Hall. We need someone to take a lead on the events, tell us what we need, and run them properly! We’re keen to hear from people who have their own ideas too.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for keeping a calendar of events in Platt Fields throughout the year.
- Help organise Friends of Platt Fields events such as Apple Day, Wassails, Nature Walks and others that you might think of!
- Liaise with organisers of other events in the park such as Envirolution Festival, Holi Festival, and others.
- Creating promotional material.
- Maybe a bit of social media.
- Coming to our friendly monthly committee meetings.
Time Commitment
The role requires around two hours of voluntary work per week on average. It might be busy one week and quiet for the next month. That’s events! No obligations, we just manage with what we can.
Skills You’ll Need
The position would suit somebody interested in their local park, events management, marketing, and community engagement.
